• Location: 10 again, corner of San Bernardo & Gran Via 5-10 mins walk from all Madrid's good spots, incl Malasana, Santa Ana, Sol, Chueca etc
• Common facilities and services: 10 really spacious common room with great street views
• Staff: 10 everyone very friendly and courteous, in particular the argentinean (i think) gentleman on reception i met when i arrived. also thanks for letting me leave my bag in the hostal on the day i checked out, to collect later - very handy service
• Quietness: 7.5 Madrid is not a quite place and often at weekends visitors are coming from a night out - with that in mind, the noise level was minimum. no noisier than any other place i've stayed in in madrid. quieter than most probably.
• Room: 7.5 it met my needs perfectly
• Value for money: 10 very reasonably priced for solo traveller
