This attractive, seafront guesthouse is situated in a lovely, secluded area of L’Escala, steps from the beach and close to the archaeological site of Empurias. The historical hotel building has been added to over the years, yet still retains much of its original charm and features. Interestingly, in the early 1900’s it was a cafe, but when the Greek and Roman ruins were discovered nearby, it opened its doors as a hotel to accommodate the archaeologists. Wonderful, seafood cuisine and rice dishes can be sampled in the guesthouse’s restaurant, while you contemplate fantastic views of the neighbouring sea. L'Escala slopes down to the coast with a selection of beaches from El Codolar to Playa de Riells. Being a main fishing port there is a selection of good fish restaurants and cafes that line the seafront.
