• Negative: The rave reviews on tripadvisor really surprised us on our arrival. The hotel had funky decorations indeed, but looked quite cheap with a badly designed room/bathroom (sink was too tall, bathtub had no screen thus making it tricky to have a shower etc.) and dirt patches on the carpet. In addition, staff seemed quite lost and eventhough reception was meant to be manned 24/7, when we returned from dinner around midnight, there was noone at reception! We were left ringing the bell for 10 minutes with another couple, who had been there for 10 minutes before us. We were not impressed. Negotiating to have an extra half hour for check out did not quite seem to make up for the deficiencies.
