• Positive: Great Location and very helpful staff. Rooms kind of noisy but clean and well kept. The beds are a bit stiff.

• Positive: Close proximity to Las Ramblas.
• Negative: Hotel is very cheap. They claim they are a three-star hotel, yet a true three-star hotel would have not only more amenities, but they would not charge for them. This hotel has no bar, ice machines, or refrigerators in the rooms. Wi-Fi is not reliable and is not free, even though the two-star hotel next to them offers it for free! Also, Hotel Nouvel states that they are not liable for any items that are stolen from the room if they are not placed in the room safe. However, this hotel charges for the use of the safe! A true three-star hotel offers the use of the room safe for free! The only thing that this hotel can claim is that they are in walking distance to Las Ramblas, that is all. Hotel Nouvel is not a three-star hotel, but rather a true two-star hotel. It is ironic that other two-star hotels near the Hotel Nouvel offer more free amenities! Also, we asked for maid service to clean our rooms during the middle of the week. All they did was make up the beds using the same sheets and replace the bathroom towels. They did not clean the bathroom or the room! Also, other two-star hotels offer a free breakfast to all of their hotel guests as part of their stay. Hotel Nouvel charges all guests for this basic amenity, even if you made your reservations through their website.

• Cleanliness: Not rated Maid Service must be re-trained to know how to clean a room and change the sheets, not just make the bed with the same sheets and replace the bathroom towels.
• Location: 10 The only positive thing about Hotel Nouvel is the close proximity to Las Ramblas.
• Common facilities and services: Not rated There are no common facilities. Hotel Nouvel may claim that their restaurant is a common facility, but there is no bar to use and you have to pay for breakfast and dinner.
• Staff: 10 It is not the staff's fault that the hotel they work at is a dump masquerading as a three-star hotel instead of a two-star hotel. They do feel bad that they have to charge all guests for everything. I can't blame them for being embarrassed.
• Quietness: Not rated Walls are very thin. We could hear people in the rooms next to ours. We could also here the people above us when they used the toilets.
• Room: Not rated Walls have large cracks and very small balconies. They are over-priced.
• Value for money: Not rated This place is over-priced. They prey on tourists by promoting their close location to Las Ramblas, then they charge the tourists for everything. For the lack of basic free amenities (i.e. cleanliness, common facilities, basic Wi-Fi, bar, ice machines, in-room refrigerators), Hotel Nouvel is really a two-star hotel pretending to be a three-star hotel.

• Positive: The location: less than a 1-minute walk to La Rambla and a metro stop, 2-minute walk to Plaza de Catalunya. The hotel staff: very helpful, whether for giving directions, helping reservation online tickets for local sites, etc.
• Negative: The extra cost for WiFi: there were separate charges for 1-hour, 8-hour, and 24-hour increments (24-hour is the best deal 10 euros).

• Location: 10 The best part about the hotel. Just outside the door are several pastry shops, La Ramba, and a metro stop.

• Quietness: 10 They have double-pane windows/balcony doors, which almost completely cut out the street noise. Otherwise it would be very loud.
• Room: 5 The room and bathroom were quite small. The only toiletries provided was a bar of soap and a small bottle of shower gel. Bring your own shampoo! On the other hand, there was a lot of storage space in a large wardrobe closet (which also contained a small safe). There was an adequate sized desk.
• Value for money: 7.5 I think you're definitely paying for the excellent location.
