• Positive: The wonderful staff! Front desk was always open and friendly!
• Negative: Oh I don't mean this entirely as bad but those room darkening shades did trick us one day! It was pitch black in the room and we didn't realize that the staff puts them down at night (admittedly we stayed out way too late! haha!). So we didn't wake up the next day until noon!

• Positive: Our original room was right overlooking the Ramblas. We found that much too noisy & were easily accommodated when we asked to be moved. Our second room was quite lovely and quiet. The staff were generally courteous & helpful.
• Negative: In contrast, we were shocked & dismayed at checkout time when informed that our Travelex MasterCard was not an acceptable form of payment. We had seen our friends checkout using their Travelex card the previous day, and had also used it in every other similar hotel throughout our two weeks in Spain. We were politely told that only a manager could authorize such a transaction, yet there was no manager on duty at 8am. We were forced to settle our bill with another credit card, and will now incur a 3% service charge. This policy should be stated either @ booking, or at check in times - or both, so that travelers can plan appropriately.
